Stewart was also re-elected alongside Lib Dem colleagues Chris Hoar and Clive Blackmore to represent Central ward on Trowbridge Town Council

Stewart Palmen was born in Taunton grew up in Chipping Sodbury and studied electronics at Salford University. He worked within the electronics industry for many years and spent some time living in South East Asia. In his career he worked in Engineering and Marketing as well as spending 6 years as a DT teacher at Clarendon College in Trowbridge. He is married to Eunja Palmen and they have 2 now grown up daughters. He has lived in Trowbridge for over 14 years and loves the town.
Stewart has been a Town Councillor for the Trowbridge Central Ward for 10 years and Wiltshire Councillor for the last 4 years (same ward) and is the current Leader of Trowbridge Town Council. Stewart was involved in setting up the Street Pastors (Coordinator for 5 years), rebuilding the Civic Centre (through time as a Town Councillor), keeping the Town Hall open (as a Trustee) and setting up the first Trowbridge independent traders market. "The Weavers Market" (Chair of the organisers group). He has a passion for the Town of Trowbridge and all who live there.
