Wiltshires National Trust sites in Social Media
Wiltshire's National Trust attractions are among the most popular on social media.
Stourhead in Mere is the second most popular National Trust visitor location according to the number of hashtags it has on Instagram.
Pulling in 53,273 tags the Palladian house and world-famous landscape garden was beaten to the top spot only by Cheshire's Tatton Park. The site is home to a Tudor hall, neo-classical mansion, gardens and a deer park. To date, it has been tagged over 77,000 times on Instagram.
Avebury in Marlborough also made it into the top ten, at number six with 44,069 hashtags.
Dunham Massey, in Greater Manchester secured the third spot through having 49,278 hashtags. The Grade One listed-building, Dunham Massey Hall was built in the early 17th century by the Earls of Warrington and boasts a garden and an ancient deer park.
The National Trust, which has its headquarters in Swindon, has announced that from next Wednesday some attractions will reopen in England and Northern Ireland.
Initially 29 sites, including Lacock in Wiltshire will be open to the public who can pre-book tickets in order to secure a visit. More sites are expected to follow as the Trust celebrates 125 years as Europe's largest conservation charity this year.
The data was collected by Sellhousefast.uk who took over 200 sites listed on the National Trust website and counted the number of hashtags for each site, either by name or name followed by the words national trust.
