What ... No Flag!
In a show of signalling patriotism via zoom, all and sundry seem to have a spare flag hanging around in their house, just decorating their virtual backdrop.
Given the the recent propensity by some parties to have flags in their pictures to possibly demonstrate their 'Britishness', it's interesting to note that those bastions of Britishness, Churchill, Thatcher or even Nelson were painted with no flags behind them. Clearly they were secure enough in their identity to hold to fort alone.
The best seen this week when sitting through parliament TV was the Tory MP who didn't have a flag but had union jack bunting behind her head as she spoke on the the Police Bill.
Note: Having a flag behind merely indicates someone is following a trend, whatever nationality a person is is NOT defined by a flag.
Even the Independent has clocked the trend and started grading the attempts.
