Thoughts on Johnson's latest threats
A little post about Boris Johnsons threat today to quit trade talks with the EU and crash the UK out with a no-deal (Australia) come January:
1 - The chances are this is bluff to appear tough to the extremist Brexiters before he caves in to EU demands and then goes on to claim a "great victory".
Before anyone gets to excited about Johnsons blustering, remember he said he'd rather be "dead in a ditch" than do something or other, I forget what it was, its so many lies ago its all blended into one.
2 - If it is genuine then not only was the "oven-ready deal" he won an election on a complete lie, it also signifies the willingness of this Conservative administration to bring this country down. Remember we are in the height of a pandemic with millions facing job cuts. A no-deal is the absolute worse outcome this country can possibly get and it will negatively affect almost every part of the economy and the way the country runs.
3 - An Australian deal is a way to make no-deal sound better, you might as well call it a Sierra Leone type deal, its the same thing. Australia does not have a free-trade agreement with the EU instead it has deals with many of its closest geographical neighbours - Ring any bells?
