Simple, Reliable and Cheap Ways to Travel in Wiltshire

Disconnectivity in Wiltshire is one of the key issues raised to us over the years. This pushes residents into cars.
Road transport is one of the biggest sources of pollution in the UK, contributing to poor air quality noise disturbance, congestion and climate change.
Some areas in Wiltshire, such as Bradford on Avon, Salisbury, Marlborough, Devizes and Calne have dangerous levels of air pollution.
If we are serious about tackling the climate emergency and improving the lives of Wiltshire residents, we must shift towards reliable, customer-focused and cheap public transport with improved cycle routes and the infrastructure for electric vehicles.
Buses from Lower Compton Bassett run only every hour. Similarly, train stations in Wilton, Corsham and Porton are closed, with residents forced into cars. Bus services have been cut and the fumes from ancient school buses pollute the lungs of children and surrounding residents.
Moreover, the rollout of charging points for electric cars is still too slow.
Finally, by improving transport links and creating the conditions for a green recovery, roads in Wiltshire will be safer for all users.
To lead Wiltshire's recovery we must create the conditions for our residents to thrive in a green and prosperous Wiltshire.
