Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group and other healthcare providers have been working up plans for a new integrated health care centre on land off Seymour Road adjacent to the existing hospital in Trowbridge.

The proposal is for a new facility that will provide out of hospital urgent care services, enhanced extended hours services provision, a range of other health care services and an increase in primary care capacity.

An outline planning permission to develop this site for a new primary care centre was previously approved in February 2010 and the site remains allocated within Wiltshire's Local Plan for the development of community health facilities.

A new application will be seeking outline planning approval for the development of a 2,400 sqm two-storey building with parking. The appearance and design of the centre will be decided later.

A planned drop-in session for local people prior to the submission of the application can't now take place, but NHS Property Services say they'll write to neighbouring properties to let them know about the application. They will also set up a webpage for people to view details of the proposals and encourage them to comment directly to the Wiltshire Council once the application is live.
