Numbers Turn Out for Mental Health Seminar
Thank you to those who came to the mental health seminar in recognition of Time to Talk Day and Children's Mental Health Awareness Week.
Researchers from the University of Bath joined us to present their research and outline ways their research can help us all live healthier lives. Speakers included Dr Maria Loades, research assistant Katherine Sawyer and PHD student Katherine Petrilli.

Dr Maria Loades commented:
"Let's take time to talk about mental health in this pandemic context where physical health has become such a dominant focus.
"Local government has a pivotal role to play in ensuring that mental health and wellbeing gets comparable attention to physical health, which has naturally been a key focus of efforts in the effort to contain the spread of the virus."
Katherine Sawyer, Research Assistant at the University of Bath mentioned the importance of engaging with policymakers to spread awareness of their findings:
"The time to talk seminar was a great event to get people talking about mental health. It was a great opportunity for researchers, Councillors and members of the public to discuss different topics in mental health and there were some really interesting questions asked. It is important to engage with a variety of stakeholders to ensure people understand mental health and how it is impacted."
If you, or anyone you know would like to know more about this please get in touch and keep an eye out for future events!
