National Day of Reflection
March 23rd is the National Day of Reflection, a day in which people will come together to remember all those we have lost and those who have been affected by Covid-19.
It's been a year since the first lockdown started on March 23rd 2020. Since then in the UK over 4,301,925 people have caught coronavirus and sadly 126,172 have died and the Country is just in the process of emerging from the third lockdown. Over 27.6 million people have now received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, a spectacular success story for the NHS.

On Monday evening Panaroma exposed the exposure of rush for personal protective equipment contracts when the pandemic began, because of lack of preparedness. Disturbingly, many beneficiaries were not previously in the PPE business, whereas established suppliers were overlooked!
And they were unsurprisingly damning on the Johnson's government handling of pandemic, embarrassing with the international comparisons.
Today, t here will be a minute's silence at 12noon and at 8pm everyone is invited to come together to light up the night.
The initiative, from Marie Curie, encourages people to stand outside with a light at 8pm - whether it be a candle, a torch or even a phone. The purpose is to remember someone who's died and show support to people going through a bereavement.
You can find more details of the initiative on the Marie Curie website at https://mariecurie.org.uk
