Mental Health is a Must

6 Jan 2021

The scale of the mental health impact that is likely to be left in the wake of Covid19 must not be underestimated, It's not just one of us affected, the prolonged nature of the pandemic, it really is impacting many across Wiltshire.

Thousands of local frontline NHS and care staff, not to mention other key workers, are enduring deeply traumatic events through this ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Hundreds more are dealing with unexpected bereavement and many in Wiltshire are struggling with loneliness maybe due to lockdown or may be under significant stress due to rapid changes in personal circumstances, from losing their job to losing their home.

We know it's hard at the moment, which is why Liberal Democrats nationally have called for an expert-led task force to focus on mental health funding and locally we' all need to strengthen our community relationships with local mental health partners, who are providing much needed support to combat the chaos caused by #Covid19 and are calling for increased recognition and funding for mental health.
