Lib Dem Candidates for Wylye Valley and Nadder Valley
With just two weeks to go until polling day, here's a reminder of two of our candidates in the South of Wiltshire. Not quite Jack and Jill ... but Josh and Jill is pretty close. Both are experienced candidates and councillors, passionate about serving the Wiltshire community.
Jill Caudle is our Liberal Democrat candidate for the new 'Nadder Valley' ward, which includes East Knoyle, Semley, Chicklade, Hindon, Fonthill Bishop, Chilmark, Teffont, Dinton, Wylye and the Langfords.
Jill has 16 years' previous experience as a District and Parish Councillor. She was the District Council's Lib Dem spokesperson on Planning Policy for many years, and on the Parish Council she took particular responsibility for finance.
Since moving to East Knoyle in 2016 she has become fully involved in the local community, including as Secretary to both the Village Hall Committee and the PCC of the village church.
Jill works from home as a part-time P.A./bookkeeper, and classical music administrator. In her spare time she enjoys walking in our lovely countryside, and she sings in the choir of Sherborne Abbey and with Opera at Chilmark and other local groups.
Local election issues tend to centre on "planning and potholes" but, as a member of the Green Liberal Democrats, Jill is particularly keen on our policies to proactively promote biodiversity on all Council land, and to ensure Wiltshire achieves zero-carbon status by 2030.
Josh Charles is our candidate for Wylye Valley. Josh is an experienced administrator with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry and a Bachelor of Arts (First Class) in International Relations and Politics from University of Lincoln. Currently working as the County Campaigns organiser for Wiltshire Lib Dems alongside his role as a town councillor for Westbury West, winning the seat with over 40% of the vote in 2018.
