As you may be aware by now, we are without a County Councillor to represent us.

The Conservative who very narrowly beat me in 2017 has moved 170 miles away to be the MP for Broxtowe in Nottinghamshire.

I have spoken with a lot of people who share my concerns and feel frustrated by the lack of action by the Conservative who promised a lot and delivered little. Having represented our communities for almost thirty years, I had hoped that my successor would keep his promise to work hard on your behalf.

Time and time again though, I am told that people feel ignored and let down by this 'career' politician who first tried to become the well paid Police and Crime Commissioner and then MP in Nottinghamshire - all whilst he was supposed to be our Councillor.

Our communities deserve better than this.

We need someone who is committed to working on Wiltshire Council for us. Someone to help sort out the traffic mess in Shrewton since the Conservatives closed the A344. Someone to campaign for a decent bus service. Someone to continue to represent local people in the never-ending debate over the A303.

That is why I am delighted to be able to endorse Harry Ashcroft.

I know what it takes to represent our area and to get things done for our villages and Harry is exactly the person we need. I'm very impressed by him: he is energetic, committed, and a real worker. He grew up locally and understands rural life and our communities.

Please join me in sending Wiltshire Conservatives a very strong message that we will not be ignored. Vote for real, local representation by voting for Harry Ashcroft.

Kind regards,

Ian West
