Trowbridge Town Council leader Cllr Stewart Palmen, a Wiltshire Council member, said: ""I am very pleased to see that there is finally going to be access onto the site from the A363.

"This has been the main blocking point for support of the application from Trowbridge Town Council. This revised plan is a great example what can happen when all three of the Drynam Ward Town Councillors work together.

"We have now gained the best solution for the residents. Town and County Cllr Andrew Bryant together with Cllr Denise Bates and Cllr Antonio Piazza have all worked on this with Cllr Andrew Bryant, calling this planning application and discussing the issues with the developers, helping them come up with the new access plan.

"I believe we need more housing around Trowbridge to meet Wiltshire's housing plan allocation. This development will be instrumental in providing housing with a good proportion of affordable/social housing.

"Now that there will be access to the site without construction traffic having to go through existing housing areas, I am sure this development will go ahead."
