CASES of coronavirus in Wiltshire have nearly doubled in the last seven days as the government announces it will confirm the final step of its roadmap out of lockdown on July 12.

As of 4pm Monday (July 5), in the last week 719 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Wiltshire. This is nearly twice as many new cases as the week before when the same figure was 365.

This means that the current seven-day case rate in Wiltshire stands at 143.8 per 100,000 people. The week prior that same figure was 73.

However, this is still much lower than the overall England rate which is 223.8.
