Care Home ruling: Buck stops with Boris Johnson and he has to go
| Responding to the news that the High Court has ruled that the Government broke the law by failing to protect care home residents, Liberal Democrat Leader Ed Davey MP said: "This damning verdict confirms the Conservative government didn't just fail to protect the elderly and vulnerable, they broke the law in doing so. "While Conservative Ministers lied about a 'protective ring' around care homes, they left vulnerable grandparents to die alone. "Time after time they ignored warnings from the Liberal Democrats and experts in the sector, that moving patients from hospitals into care homes was reckless and dangerous. Tens of thousands of families across the country have paid a terrible price. "Conservative ministers share responsibility for this shocking failure, but ultimately the buck stops with Boris Johnson and he has to go. People have suffered from his lies and law-breaking for far too long."
