Next Steps: Boundary Commission Review

January 7, 2022 8:12 PM
By Ellen Nicholson

The Boundary Commission for England proposed new boundaries for Parliamentary constituencies which they published last year and invited comments from interested parties. You can see a map of their proposals for the West Midlands here: https://www.bcereviews.org.uk/node/6490

By entering your postcode, you can narrow it down to your area.

The BCE is now moving to the secondary consultation. During this consultation, you will be able to provide your feedback on the initial proposals via their consultation website, bcereviews.org.uk, by email or letter, or in person during a public hearing.

Further information about the public hearings will be made available later in January including details of venues and how to book your slot to speak.

They want to hear your views on how they can improve proposed boundary lines and constituency names. You will also be able to comment on the responses they received during the first consultation.

The Commission intends to publish these responses on their consultation website during the week commencing 7 February, to give you the opportunity to take others' views into account when providing your own feedback.

The Commission will be making a video and audio recording of each hearing. They will make a copy of these recordings available after each hearing, and in due course, will publish a written transcript of each hearing.
