F37A Emergency motion: Solving the Supply Chain Crisis

Delighted to have the opportunity to speak this morning to the F37A Emergency motion: Solving the Supply Chain Crisis
I raised the issue of the HGV driver shortage impacting on local residents waste collections
The shortage of blood test bottles, related to the #Covid19 Pandemic but the supply chain, transportation issues and the border control make a bad situation worse - this in turn will impact on the already stretched NHS and patients receiving a timely diagnosis.
The workforce crisis in the care sector exacerbated by this governments definition of skilled/low skilled workers
The HGV crisis impacting on the UK's ability to harvest crops - farmers have fewer drivers for their machinery, which in turn impacts on the food supply chain
And finally the impending energy crisis coming at a time when the universal credit uplift is being halted by this Government, meaning families may have to make a difficult choice between food or warmth this winter.
The endless Brexit bureaucracy is breaking Britain, the Conservatives would have you believe that it is down to the Pandemic - yet forget news sources from our nearest neighbours in Europe do not have the same extreme set of circumstances.
This Government chose to implement a hard Brexit, increase bureaucracy and remove the UK from ease of trading with it's nearest neighbours.
Supply Lines Issues ()
Conservatives have catapulted Britain back to the 1970's in the days before the EFTA. No one wants a winter of fuel shortages, power cuts and candles but it may be that is what this Government will offer predominantly the result of Brexit and government incompetence.
