From April Fool's Day, Wiltshire Council is ending the 20p car parking fee that motorists are currently charged when they pay for parking via the MiPermit app or text message.

At the moment, when you want to pay for parking in WC car parks using the MiPermit app or text message rather than coins, you get charged a 20p fee on top of the amount you pay for parking. However, from 1 April, this fee will be scrapped.

WC claims the measure will cost Β£90,000 because of what they pay for the MiPermit system.
