More top managers for WC

June 20, 2017 6:25 PM

Council leader Jane Scott has announced changes to the way the council is managed. The new structure will see the number of corporate directors increased from three to four. Details below. The aim of unifying health and social care, which has been much discussed over the years but with little progress, is to be encouraged by the adult social care post being jointly funded by WC and the NHS. The structure will see an additional cost to the taxpayer of 0.5 FTE.

The corporate directors will be aligned to the council's four priority areas.

  • Children and Education (this will be the statutory Director of Children's Services)

  • Adult social care and health and chief accountable officer for the Clinical Commissioning Group (this will be the joint statutory Director of Adult Social Services), jointly funded by the council and the NHS Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group

  • Growth, Investment and Place

  • Communities, Resources and Transformation (this postholder will be the Returning Officer and Electoral Registration Officer)

Details in committee report.
