To Bee or not to Bee?

beeBritish bees are vital to our food supply and economy. But their numbers have declined dramatically.

Friends of the Earth are launching The Bee Cause so that together we can help save British bees.

You can do your bit by encouraging wild flowers in the garden, and by making 'bee hotels' for the many species of solitary bees who need somewhere to live. Details of how to make one here

PS. Did you know that without bees it would cost UK farmers £1.8 billion a year to hand-pollinate their crops? And that would push up our food prices.
