Fieldways Roundabout

Preliminary work on the Hilperton Gap road has begun. The road has to be constructed by Persimmon Homes before they can build the 'East of Trowbridge' development of several hundred homes and a primary school on land near Green Lane.

The road will run from the A361 roundabout at Fieldways to the mini-roundabout at the Horse Road / Wyke Road junction. The route of the eastern part of the road has been marked out as far as Middle Lane.

However a Persimmon source of information has implied that the work is merely to activate the planning permission and construction is not likely to start just yet.

When built, the road is likely to reduce the amount of traffic passing through Holt but increase the flow through Staverton.
